Mission Statement

We are a diverse people
brought together by the grace of God
to share with others
what we ourselves have received

Sharing our ministry together in community ...

There are many ways to get involved in the life of Christ Lutheran Church on Capitol Hill.  These include various ways to participate in Sunday worship services, being a member or leader on an administrative team, participation in Bible studies as well as numerous other groups that meet throughout each month.  These provide enrichment and community for those involved while helping us to fulfill our mission......"to share with others what we ourselves have received."  We each have unique talents to offer; let us use them to live out our call to be disciples in Christ.

If you are interested in any of the opportunities listed, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Joy McElroy, at 651.222.3619, ext.15, or e-mail at joymcelroy@christoncapitolhill.org  You can also talk to Pastor Gary Dreier @ 651.222.3619, ext.11, or e-mail at garydreier@christoncapitolhill.org

Loaves & Fishes - We served 241 people on Monday, July 26

Thank you to all who helped support the Loaves & Fishes meal we served in July. We served 241 community members a delicious chicken dinner. This is the highest number we have served yet; unfortunately the need continues to be great.

Our next service date is Monday, September 26th. If you are interested in preparing the meal, serving, or cleaning up, please contact Joy McElroy at 651-222-3619 ext. 15 or email joymcelroy@christoncapitolhill.org

Egg Roll Fundraiser for Summer KICKS - we made $2500 + $600 fundraising grant from Thrivent Financial = $3100!

Christ Lutheran and our partner congregation King of Kings made 2256 egg rolls together to help raise funds for Summer KICKS. Thanks to all who supported this event by making or purchasing the egg rolls!

Project Home provides overnight emergency shelter for families experiencing homelessness after the main Ramsey County shelter in Maplewood is at capacity. Three different area churches, synagogues or schools host Project Home each month.

Christ Lutheran helped support Project Home on June 13, 14 and 15 at Messiah Episcopal Church. Evening shelter hosts and overnight hosts spent time visiting with guests, playing and reading with children, and serving a light meal. Thank You!

We will support this effort a few times per year if you are interested in getting involved. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
